About

David Vikman is a queer, multidisciplinary artist who started performing at the National Swedish Ballet School in 2005.
He continued to study a variety of styles for the 6 coming years including classical ballet, contemporary dance, and jazz. Through his studies and professional development, he performed and trained across the country including Pitea, Lund, Malmo and Stockholm.
In 2016 David transitioned his practice and moved to Sweden's capital, Stockholm, to study theatre at Calle Flygare Theatre School. There he commenced a 2-year acting diploma under the guidance of Erik Ehn (Dramaten), studying physical theatre, Meisner technique, Stanislavsky, and Viewpoints.
Once he graduated, David moved to Australia and commenced a BA at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2018. While at WAAPA, David trained with esteemed professionals such as Nona Shepphard (RADA) and Michael Whaites (LINK Dance Company). His final performance with WAAPA, Life on Earth (2019, Michael Barlow), was received with critical acclaim.

D*ck Pics in the Garden of Eden (Performer, The Last Great Hunt), Rebirth (Performer, APK productions),
Shaun Tan’s Rules of Summer (Performer, Spare
Parts Puppet Theatre), and the improv group The Big HOO-HAA.

David is also a teaching artist for Black Swan State Theatre Company, WA Youth Theatre Company, and Spare Parts Puppet

Theatre.
